We run the Departments of Virology and Parasitology as one, tackling global health challenges from emerging and re-emerging infections to malaria and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).

Inheriting a tradition of looking out at the world from the international city of Osaka, we connect the frontlines of endemic regions — DR Congo, El Salvador and beyond — with precise laboratory science.

Crossing established academic boundaries, we confront the evolving health challenges of the 21st century, together with diverse colleagues gathered from around the world.
